Political Action:

1.  Call or meet with your state and federal legislators and ask what they are doing to reduce gun violence.
2.  Research the bills up for your state legislature’s session to find any gun related bills and voice your support or opposition.
3.  Write a letter to the editor of your local or regional newspaper to support or oppose bills up for a vote.
4. Attend rallies, virtually or in person, concerning gun violence prevention or related topics, such as domestic violence.
5. Request proclamations for Wear Orange and Homicide Awareness month from your town government.

Social Action:

1. Write letters to corporations that support good gun practices.
2. Write to local managers to let them know why you are or are not shopping there.
3. Shop in person or online where proceeds go to community violence intervention.
4. Include information about availability of guns when arranging a play date for children or grandchildren along with pets, swimming pools, allergies, etc.
5. Encourage your doctor to include availability of guns in their conversations with patients.
6. Donate to gun violence prevention groups.
7. Ensure that friends and family secure any guns they have.
8. Encourage the social action group at your religious community to support gun violence prevention

Educate yourself:

1. Research gun violence prevention groups in your area and nationally.
2.  Join one of the above groups and get on their email list.
3.  Suggest gun related books to book clubs and ask libraries to feature books on gun violence
prevention.
